category options can take a short name (in addition to name and code) in the
Maintenance GUI.
However, the csv-format description in the developers manual (1.11.6. Other
objects) only gives the option to import name and code, but not the short name.
Is that a problem of the manual, or do I have to specify the short names
manually after importing the options? (are the short names used anywhere,
anyway?)
Sounds good, thank you! What would be the CSV-format? Just another column at
the end?
Are the ShortNames being used anywhere in the guy / reports / etc... ?
Regards, Uwe

Hi Uwe,
right. I have made a fix now in trunk and 2.23 that enables import of short
names for the following objects:
Category option, data element group, organisation unit group, category
option group.

Lars

Yes, after code. Updated docs now.
Are the ShortNames being used anywhere in the guy / reports / etc... ?
Yes e.g. in analytics apps.

I tried import for category options and that seems to work. However - I can't
seem to find any use of the shortnames in pivot or visualiser - at least for
category options. Would be useful, though.
Have a nice evening,

Got it, that's much better. Would it be a big thing to extend the selection to codes as well, and to offer shortnames in the download menue (currently I can only see ID, Name and Code)?
Best regards, Uwe
