Challenges Deploying DHIS2 to a Remote Host

Dear All, I am facing some bit of a challenge Deploying my DHIS2.war application to a Hosting Company. May be I missed some of the steps involved. It tells me that deployment was done (I used filezilla to load the war file and it automatically deployed the application BUT NOT STARTED). The Challenge now is to configure it to link to my hibernate properties and thereafter the database connection.

Anystep is appreciated

You can do anything, but not everything.

Hi Stephen,

This really depends a lot on your hosting company.

In general, it is best to use a hosting company which provides you
direct access to the server (Amazon, Linode ) with enough privileges
to modify and control the environment of the server itself, such as
setting enviornment variables, scripts for backup jobs, etc. I am not
aware of anyone else using this type of hosting arrangement. If you
look at the implementation guide, there are quite detailed
instructions for Ubuntu, on a remote host, but assuming you have been
granted quite a bit of privileges on the server.

Regards,
Jason
