Catogory Option ( How To Make it AutoUpdate )

Dear DHIS2 Maintenance Team,

I am writing to request your assistance in Auto updating the Category option name in the design of the data entry form as pic #1 as below

The current Category option name is pic #1 in the Category Options list is Not Showing Up in Form Designer in pic # 2 as below as ( Auto Updated ) to show

I would appreciate it if you could help me to make it auto update the Category option name and Showing Up in Form Designer

This is probably a cache issue, please try the following step by step:

  1. Data Administration app → Maintenance → Update category option combinations, Clear application cache, reload apps
  2. Clear browser cache [might require several methods] but to make sure it’s not a cache issue perform the step below
  3. Login to the instance from your browser’s Guest mode Browse Chrome as a guest - Computer - Google Chrome Help

Hi there,

Additionally I would suggest you to press Ctrl+R or Ctrl+shift+R, in order to reload the page from the server.

But I found error and i Can not save the modify data set and showen ( Could Not Save data set ) in pic # 2 and here the logos ( Apache Tomcat 9 log) in below pic

And the error details as below pic with screen shoot of ( data set can not save )

  1. The label’s for attribute doesn’t match any element id. This might prevent the browser from correctly autofilling the form and accessibility tools from working correctly.
    To fix this issue, make sure the label’s for attribute references the correct id of a form field.

I did the below instructions as you mention but found error messages ( Cant save data set )

Sorry the steps above didn’t help. We need to get more info to understand the issue. Please mention the version number of the DHIS2 instance that you are using, and:

Could you share the complete Catalina.out log (without sensitive/authentication info) in text format?

Thanks for sharing the error details in the DevTools; however, these are not the relevant errors to this issue. To get to the relevant error details for this issue please follow the following steps:

  1. Open the page you will work on and then first thing to do is to open the Network tab (F12 → Network) – see screenshot below.
  2. Perform the tasks and click on save.
  3. Check the errors in the Network tab, click on them and take a screenshot. If possible include both request and response.
  4. See the Console (not the issues tab you selected above, it’s actually the first tab) and take a screenshot of the errors.

Welcome to the community @najm.alsamaw and congratulations on your first post. :slight_smile: :tada:

First recommendation is to please upgrade to one of the latest supported versions. Version 2.36 is no longer a supported release. It could be that if you are facing an issue that it is already solved in later versions.

I’m not able to find any specific issue in the logs related to the above. Probably would’ve been helpful if you run the analytics tables export and then check the log :slight_smile: . The Network log shows an error saving the dataset, so this appears after clicking on saving? Is there any information that might be helpful in the Response tab, or the errors “could not save data set” and the one above it if you click on the arrows? What’s the metadata network request metadata that is being sent, you can remove the domain URL…?

Please follow the guidelines mentioned in the DHIS2 Documentation:

In your case you don’t need to perform a version to version upgrade but make sure to follow all the instructions mentioned before upgrading.

I hope upgrading to the latest version will solve the issue. :pray:
