Android App: Difference between SYNC WITH SERVER AND SYNC REMOTELY DELETED DATA

Hi all.

I request anyone to explain the difference between SYNC WITH SERVER and SYNC REMOTELY DELETED DATA in our Android app (Tracker Capture App).

Thanks in advance

Hi @MSP,

Please, specify the version you are using (and please, do it also in the future if there are more questions). As I am aware of, Android tracker capture app is using a different solution in versions 2.30+ vs. 2.29- Therefore, it is important to know what version are you referring to.

Thanks.

Hi M.Selvaraaj,

The difference is SYNC WITH SERVER syncronize all of your datas and metadatas, and SYNC REMOTELY DELETED DATA only syncronize the events delete from server.

Hi,

My apologies. We are using the Tracker Capture App ver 0.5.6 (64) and DHIS2 2.29, Build 0b4de69.

Thank you very much @Marina.

I need one more clarification. If I make a change a functionality at the server, will it get reflected if I SYNC WITH SERVER? For example:

  1. Adding a data element
  2. Deleting a data element.
  3. Modifying a programme rule
  4. Adding a new stage
  5. Modifying an existing stage detail

Especially for the cases of 2,3 and 5. Or should I DELETE ALL DATA AND LOGOUT and LOGIN again?

It should be enough with press SYNC WITH SERVER in all of your cases
