# About CHAP Modelling--OneTime Variables in CHAP

For variables such as population and other indicators that are available only once for several years rather than monthly, we currently repeat the available value across all months to create a monthly model. Is there a way in CHAP Model to use these annual one-time variables directly without repeating them for every month?

Hi @krish_sharma

For population and similar annual indicators, I would not regard monthly repetition as something that needs to be eliminated purely for statistical reasons.

So if you’re proposing a feature for CHAP, I would describe it as support for mixed-frequency covariates / automatic temporal alignment of covariates, rather than simply don’t repeat annual variables.

So far all the models will anyway resample them to monthly/weekly since they can only handle normal dataframes. If we get any models that handle yearly values in a specific way we might enable passing yearly values. But for now you dont loose any information by resampling yearly values to monthly in dhis2 and passing those
