2.0.5 Postgres sample cannot be restored

Not exactly the same problem, as I did not try and restore the demo db. I did a fresh import from a dhis 1.4 database. The effect for me was the GIS would not work except when I truncated the user settings table. However the same error occurred when I started the GIS again after exiting it. I think Jan committed a fix to trunk but I have yet to try it out.

Hi devs,

The sample database backup for 2.0.5 at http://dhis2.org/downloads cannot
be
restored using pgadmin
When using pgadmin the ‘OK’ button stays gray. I’ve tried this and some say
that plan backups cannot be restored, compressed ones work fine

Also after the command-line restore gives the following exception on login:
Exception (org.hibernate.type.SerializationException): could not
deserialize
Caused by (java.io.StreamCorruptedException): invalid stream header:
BB656430

Not sure whether the bug fix will help you or not as truncating the user settings table didn’t make any difference for me. So there is a chance we’ve got two separate problems here.

Jason, I would like to test your db with 2.0.5.

If I had enough bandwidth to send you 50MB I would but not sure I can.
I will try and see what I can do.

Are you running Postgres 9.0 or 8.4? Win 7?

Eh right, well you should at least try the bug fix that solved the problem for me first then.

I have two computers with W7/8.4 and W7/9.0.
